CONFERENCE BACKGROUND
Being the heart of any educational institution, the library plays a very important role in teaching, learning and research. The main aim is to give enormous support to the academic activities of an institution. Public libraries play a vital role of a key element in the development of any society. From a very ancient past, Library and Information Centres have been offering various services for the benefits of the user community. Developments in the field of Information and Communication Technologies enable the libraries to provide advanced services to the users so that they can avail of those from anywhere and at any point of time using newly developed and innovative technologies. Libraries are also expanding and offering their services in the digital environment to their users. The Internet has changed the way the libraries are used to providing services to their clientele. In the present digital information era, there is need for pointing out and implementing new and innovative library and information services in order to meet the requirements of the users.
With the aim to explore the various facets of Library and Information Services and its transformation from the past to the present and future aspects, the Central Libraries of Brainware University and Brainware Group of Institutions-SDET, for the first time, are going to organise the International Conference on Library and Information Services (IVCLIS 2021), virtually, keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic scenario.
